Massachusetts Plane Crash: 2 Dead, Fiery Wreckage on Route 195 (2025)

A tragic small plane crash on Route 195 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, has left two people dead and one injured. The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. on Monday, as the plane crashed into the grassy median and burst into flames. The fixed-wing aircraft was en route to New Bedford Regional Airport, but it's unclear if the pilot had filed a flight plan. The aftermath of the crash was captured in a photo and video, showing the wreckage in flames on the highway amidst heavy rain. One person on the ground was also hurt and taken to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, though the severity of their injuries is not yet known. The identities of the victims and the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and the Federal Aviation Administration. Dartmouth, located 57 miles south of Boston, has been experiencing heavy rain and strong winds due to a nor'easter that has been rolling through the region since Sunday. The road closures on both sides of the highway are expected to remain in place until further notice.
