Oh no! Spurs fans, brace yourselves: Jeremy Sochan is out for the season opener. It's a tough blow for San Antonio as they gear up to face Dallas this Wednesday.
According to reports, Sochan suffered a sprained left wrist during a practice session. The injury occurred during a 5-on-5 drill, just as he was nearing a return from a previous calf strain. This unfortunate timing means he'll be sidelined for the first game of the season.
Adding to the Spurs' woes, De'Aaron Fox will also be missing the season opener due to a strained hamstring. However, there's a silver lining: both Sochan and Fox are anticipated to return to the court within the next two or three games.
Remember Sochan's impact last season? He averaged 11.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists across 54 games. His absence will undoubtedly be felt, but the team is hopeful for a quick recovery.
But here's where it gets interesting... Sochan's calf injury, which he sustained while practicing with the Polish national team in August, also caused him to miss the EuroBasket tournament and the Spurs' preseason games.
Could this string of injuries impact the Spurs' overall performance early in the season? What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
